• Supervise interns with expertise and educational and/or professional background in the field of the experience.

    Ensure student is fully oriented to the agency, staff, policies and procedures.

    Provide resources to support learning objectives/goals.

    Ensure intern work schedule allows for attendance of classes and adheres to academic holidays unless otherwise agreed.

    Assist the student in attainment of goals and objectives on the “Education Plan” which will contain clearly defined objectives/goals related to the professional goals of the student's academic coursework and of utility to the employer. This is co-developed by the site supervisor and student.

    Provide necessary training, one hour of weekly supervision, one hour in group supervision and routine feedback on performance and expectations.

    Monitor and approve hours worked toward the required number of hours for the internship.

    Provide written evaluation of student a minimum of two times: mid and end of semester.

  • If a Supervisor can’t provide back-up support to clients, please let the Executive Director know so she can provide back-up. Droste does not mandate supervision for fully licensed practitioners – otherwise should be discussed w Executive Director.

    Supervisors should always be aware of when supervisees are Out of Office and should be prepared to act as an emergency back up to clients. Contact Executive Director for additional coverage support.HERE

  • Provide at least 1 hour of supervision weekly and be available for emergency consultations as necessary.

    Assign cases in coordination with Executive Director and Intake Coordinator.

    Review any process recordings.

    Complete any required school forms including evaluations; participate in any conferences with school liaisons.

    Review and approve notes in Therapy Notes, providing edits as needed.

  • Come to supervision prepared to discuss challenging cases and with goals identified for each case as well as your plan for next steps. If you are struggling to conceptualize any of these areas, raise this concern to your supervisor to discuss together.

    Actively search out information regarding modalities or resources that would be helpful to clients and/or are suggested by supervisor.

    Engage in honest and thoughtful reflection of self.

    Complete documentation required for clients at least weekly and ensure that clients complete required documentation for DMHS.

    (Interns) Maintain accurate timesheet and provide to supervisor regularly for signing.

  • Droste provides supervisors a monthly payment (via Zelle unless otherwise requested).

    Rates for non-fully licensed folks (interns, LMSW, MHC-LP):

    0-4 clients: $100 per month

    5-15 clients: $200 per month

    16+ clients: $400 per month

    The monthly rate includes approval of all notes and treatment plans in Therapy Notes, as well as coverage for emergencies/time-off. It is up to the supervisor to determine if weekly or bi-weekly supervisions are necessary for caseloads under 15. For caseloads over 15, weekly supervisions are expected.

    Droste requires a treatment plan for every client and a note each session (Progress Note).

    Fully licensed folks (LCSW/LMHC) won't have set supervision but can access consultation hours at $50 a maximum of twice per month. If more consultation hours are needed, Exec Director approval is required for payment.

  • For Private Practitioners who take incentives, you will not receive a separate payment for supervision services, you’ll receive a discount off of your rental rate.

Supervisor Qualifications

Supervisors at Droste are either a licensed clinical psychologist, LCSW, or LMHC. Clinical Psychologists are able to supervise psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors. An LCSW can supervise social workers and mental health counselors. An LMHC can supervise mental health counselors. Each therapist is responsible for checking with State Licensing to verify who can provide supervision.
