Volunteer with us

  • If you are over 18 years of age and interested in supporting our mission, let us know!

  • Depending on your unique skills, we could use support in graphic design, grant writing, fundraising, and marketing.

  • We are a small organization! We might not be able to support a volunteer experience for every person who wishes to volunteer as we want to make sure our volunteers have a great experience. Please still reach out to us and we will be honest with you about our capacity, how you might be able to help, or if we need to take a raincheck.

  • If you are licensed mental health professional and want to volunteer to see Droste clients, let us know! Otherwise, we do not have direct service volunteer opportunities.

Intern with us

  • Anyone in a graduate program for mental health is eligible to be an intern. Only second year clinical students are eligible for direct work with clients. There are project opportunities related to operating a mental health clinic available for first year students or second year students that are not in a clinical track

Droste interviews potential interns the year prior to determine placements.

  • Droste looks for interns who are committed to providing affordable and accessible therapy to clients across the age-range and who are committed to practicing through a holistic lens that includes an awareness of how discrimination and marginalization may impact clients.

Interns that are bilingual are prioritized, in particular interns that are bilingual in English and Spanish.

  • Droste is committed to providing a learning environment for interns. Weekly supervision will be provided by a qualified and experienced supervisor who will work to help interns build foundational therapeutic skills as well as reflect on and develop their own therapeutic style.

  • Your clients may span the age-range. You may be asked to conduct therapy in individual or group settings and if you have clients who are children, your work may involve family work.

  • A Droste team member conducts intakes for clients who are interested in therapy services. The Executive Director will review intakes to determine if there are clients that would be appropriate for an intern and who would be willing to work with an intern for their therapy journey. All clients who are matched with an intern have consented to working with an intern for their therapy journey.
